Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.—Maya Angelou
Mission
At FEAST our mission is to equip youths with the tools and strategies to effectively engage in thinking critically within the context of academics, personal development and the global society.
Vision
FEAST’s vision is to cultivate independent and reflective learners who think critically, and question with a resilience to expand their thinking and effect positive change within themselves, their communities, and the world.
Origins of FEAST Edu
As a literacy coach, teacher mentor and 7th / 8th grade English teacher, Nasira Waters was alarmed each time she encountered students being promoted to Middle School, lacking basic skills around analyzing and evaluating the information they received. Moreover, many of Ms. Waters’ students struggled with demonstrating appropriate social emotional skills. Although her heart ached, she was determined to prove that her students would rise to the level of her expectations. Nasira’s passion for youths growth and development continues to compel her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her students and adult learners.
Nasira takes great pride in helping students achieve academic success and embody the excellence within them.
